Alan Lehman manages the Site by Site Agriculture Project in the Shenandoah Valley. His work is funded through a grant from the Blue Moon Fund, and focuses on stopping bad agricultural practices like cattle feedlots on riverbanks that pollute our rivers and streams. Alan works with small farmers to improve local water quality, and has already seen improvements to many of the farms he has visited.

Alan comes to our organization with 25 years of experience in photojournalism project management for one of the largest daily newspapers in northern Virginia. He describes himself as a recreational kayaker and an avid canoeist. He also makes it a point to collect trash as he’s paddling around the Shenandoah Valley.
